Cambridge Celebrates Fall with RiverSing

weeksbridgesmThe Charles River is one of the attractions I have always liked about Cambridge and Boston.  It is no surprise that it is the location of the Annual RiverSing event put on by the Revels organization.  For those of you not familiar RiverSing is a Free Family event that takes place this Sunday September 20th from 5pm to 7:30.  It culminates in a group sing-a-long on the Cambridge side bank of the Charles River near the Weeks Foot Bridge.

I remember sitting on the Boston side of the Charles River when I went to BU.  It was a great place to think and it always reflected the seasons in such a picturesque way.  From the joggers, rollerbladers and bikers that started up in the spring, to the rowers and sailors that braved the Charles River in the Summer and Fall, to the frozen waters of the Winter always worthy of a view.

The festivities start at 5 at Harvard Square’s Winthrop Park and then followed by the procession over to Memorial Drive on the Charles where the singing starts at 6pm.  You can download the songs at Revel’s website if you care to practice beforehand…

A documentary has actually been produced featuring last year’s RiverSing and was posted by the Charles River Conservancy on YouTube:
