Free Summer Concerts Continue in Kendall Square
It’s not too late to catch some lively and entertaining music in Kendall Square this summer. Though in the past we have been able to provide you with a listing of the Lunchtime Concerts put on by Cambridge Center sadly we can’t provide one this year since Boston Properties just confirmed for us that the concerts are not possible this year since the plaza where they are usually held is under renovation.
The good news is the the Berklee College of Music is still having their Kendall Square Concert Series on Tuesdays and Thursdays. they take place from noon to 2 in the afternoons at 300 Athenaeum Street. You can visit the full listing at the Kendall Square development site if you want to know what you might have missed.
Last year the likes of the David Wax Museum performed at the Cambridge Center series. He actually has other ties to Cambridge since he also spent some time at Harvard. I have included a video of his song to show the caliber of performers you can get to see at these concerts. You can end up seeing the stars of tomorrow…
The remaining free Kendall Square concerts starting with this Thursday are:
August
- 11 Kiesza
- 16 Florencia Gonzalez
- 18 Julia Easterlin
- 25 Grace Kelly
- 30 Sean Farias
- 01 Sierra Hull and Highway
- 08 Mark Whitfield Jr Quartet
September
There are scenes around Cambridge and Boston in the video. Enjoy!
